Millbrook is part of Dutchess County in southeast New York in the peaceful Hudson Valley Region, near the Massachusetts border. No place is better for those who love the outdoors, sightseeing and antiquing. There are miles of hiking and biking paths in the area, plus horseback riding, golf, fishing and other outdoor recreational opportunities. Millbrook is a small farm town set amid the rolling foothills of the Berkshires and surrounded by beautiful horse farms and other picturesque villages. It’s also an antiquing center and supports several multi-dealer malls which specialize in 18th and 19th century American and European furniture, silver and other collectibles. The village of Millbrook is also home to the Institute of Ecosystem Studies, which has walking trails, gardens, a tropical greenhouse, gift shop and picnicking areas open to the public. Other attractions in the town of Millbrook include a 30-acre vineyard and winery, the Millbrook Tribute Gardens and the Trevor Zoo. Wing’s Castle in Millbrook is a fascinating stone castle that overlooks the scenic Hudson Valley, and is filled with antiques and armor. For a relaxing time in the country, any time of the year, Millbrook has a lot to offer visitors.

Millbrook Weather & Climate

The Hudson Valley Region which generally refers to the canyon area of the Hudson River and surrounding communities in New York State, has a four-season climate. The first significant snowfall usually occurs in December, but there are variations. Some years there is no snow or ice and the temperatures and river stays quite mild - high 40s to low 50s. March is the month to look for the first signs of spring. Summers in the Hudson Valley are hazy, warm and humid. September can be a mixed bag of clear, cool Canadian air or humid, warm air with intense downpours. October is one of the best months in the region for hiking and other outdoor sports. The weather is cooler and less humid then, with crisp, clear views of the High Peaks of the Adirondacks, the Catskills and the Hudson Highlands.
