East Hampton
is located in Suffolk County and is the easternmost town on Long Island, set between Amagansett and Bridgehampton along Highway 27. The town is bordered by the village of Southampton to the west and the Atlantic Ocean on the east and has approximately 70 miles of waterfront on three sides. East Hampton is a first-class community known for its large country estates and fashionable summer colonies. There are several nice beaches in the area, including Atlantic Ave Beach and Main Beach that provide swimming, surfing, water skiing, boating and fishing. Ocean Avenue takes you down to one of the nation’s cleanest and most beautiful beaches. The town also provides many artistic, historic and cultural points of interest, including The Mulford Farmhouse, located across the village green from Highway 27, which features decorative arts exhibits and costumed interpreters. Historical attractions include the Montauk Indian Museum, Old Hook Mill, Guild Hall and Deep Hollow Ranch. East Hampton has been called “America’s Most Beautiful Village,” with its wide main street, village green with pond and windmill, and its’ stately old homes. It’s generally quieter and more subdued than neighboring Southampton, and a perfect spot for a family beachside vacation.

Long Island enjoys a four-season, moderate climate, given its relatively northern latitude-which makes it a pleasant place to visit year-round. It is the largest island adjoining the continental United States, extending approximately 118 miles east-northeast from the mouth of the Hudson River, adjacent to Manhattan Island. Winters tend to be unpredictable and summers can be warm and muggy, but offshore breezes help moderate temperatures. Spring and fall are the best times to visit, when temperatures are mild. March tends to be rainy, but temperatures stay above freezing. April's warming temperatures makes it more comfortable and May is generally a gorgeous month on Long Island, weather wise. September to November is pleasant and mild, and the changing leaves make it a beautiful time to visit.
