Sagaponack
is a hamlet of South Hampton located on the South Fork of eastern Long Island, New York. Internationally known as “The Hamptons,” South Hampton has 50 miles of windswept Atlantic Ocean beaches, world-class fishing and tons of charm, combined with the sophisticated lifestyles of the rich and famous who have chosen South Hampton as their home. The South Fork of Long Island extends from Westhampton, through many charming villages and towns. Along with Sagaponack, the towns of Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor, East Quogue and Hampton Bays are also all a part of the city of South Hampton. The area has much to offer visitors. The oldest lighthouse in New York State, the Montauk Point Lighthouse is located nearby, and the whole region offers a mix of culture, historic sites, nightlife, quaint shops and boutiques and recreational activities. Sagaponack is also home to a 55-acre winery that offers wine tastings and tours. Outdoor recreation includes activities such as sailing, fishing, boating, hiking, kayaking, swimming, horseback riding and bicycling. Points of interest near Sagaponack include the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum, the Long Island Museum, Shelter Island, and the famous Long Wharf Harbor in Sag Harbor and the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium. Many of the small towns and villages are also known for their many antique shops, pubs and great seafood restaurants.

Long Island enjoys a four-season, moderate climate, given its relatively northern latitude-which makes it a pleasant place to visit year-round. It is the largest island adjoining the continental United States, extending approximately 118 miles east-northeast from the mouth of the Hudson River, adjacent to Manhattan Island. Winters tend to be unpredictable and summers can be warm and muggy, but offshore breezes help moderate temperatures. Spring and fall are the best times to visit, when temperatures are mild. March tends to be rainy, but temperatures stay above freezing. April%u2019s warming temperatures makes it more comfortable and May is generally a gorgeous month on Long Island, weather wise. September to November is pleasant and mild, and the changing leaves make it a beautiful time to visit.
