Brant-Lake is a small village located in Warren County within the scenic Adirondack Mountains. With four major lakes in the area and over 720 miles of brooks, streams and rivers flowing through Warren County, outdoor activities like hunting, fishing and hiking are popular and plentiful. Visitors can explore the waters of the region by taking Adirondack fly-fishing lessons taught by a local resident in Brant Lake, or go rafting, canoeing or boating. Activities not centered on the water include hiking, bicycling, rock climbing, horseback riding, bird watching and wildlife viewing and camping. If you love winter sports, Brant Lake is just minutes to four major ski resorts. Cross country skiers meet at nearby Pharaoh Lake Wilderness where a network of trails connect 22 large and small ponds, and snowmobiling, snowshoeing, snowboarding, tubing and sledding are also available. The summer and fall seasons bring lots of annual festivals to the area, and in summer, free sunset concerts are given at Dynamite Hill in Brant Lake. Other attractions include the Town of Horicon Museum, open every year during July and August, quaint and friendly shops and restaurants. Brant Lake is approximately 30 minutes from Lake George Village, 15 minutes from Hague on Lake George, 2 hours from Lake Placid, and 40 minutes from the city of Saratoga.

Brant Lake Weather & Climate

The weather in the Adirondacks can be variable, but historically the area has not been subjected to the devastation of hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes that plague other parts of the country. There are four distinct seasons with winters marked by consistent snowfall and cold, crisp days. Summers are warm and pleasant, with temperatures rarely climbing above 90 degrees, and evenings with low humidity. In fact, in some areas of higher elevation, summer evenings can be downright cool. Generally, there is no rainy season in the Adirondacks, but rather there are both wet and dry spells in every season. Rain in the mountains has uneven patterns. It can be raining in one spot and ten miles away it will be dry as a bone. The western Adirondacks can experience lake effect snowstorms as early as October, from Watertown to Old Forge and areas south.
