Lebanon-Springs is a small village in the scenic Hudson Valley Region of the state. It sits at the base of the Berkshires and is known for its natural thermal springs and for being the home to the Lebanon Valley Speedway. Lebanon Springs is just minutes to the other historic Hudson Valley towns of New Lebanon, Tanglewood, Canaan, Chatham and Pittsfield. The Shakers first settled this area in 1774 who arrived from England to escape religious persecution. Soon, the town of New Lebanon contained the largest Shaker community in the United States. Mount Lebanon still has 50 of the original 100 buildings of the Shaker community and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As the area grew, the village of Lebanon Springs became one of America's most famous resorts due to the mineral springs discovered there. Today, the area is a prime sightseeing spot, full of antique stores, small hamlets with historic inns and B&Bs, country stores and charming villages. Top attractions, besides the Mount Lebanon Shaker Village is Bash Bish Falls, Copake Falls and Taconic State Park. Visitors can enjoy hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, golf, rock climbing, and swimming, boating, sailing and fishing at Kinckerbocker Lake.

Western New York, including The Berkshires, has a moderate four-season climate. The first significant snowfall usually occurs in December, but it varies from year to year. Some years there is no snow or ice until after the first of the new year, and the temperatures near The Hudson River stay quite mild. March is the month to look for the first signs of spring, although cool temps can linger throughout the month. Summers are hazy, warm and humid. September can be mixed with either clear, cool Canadian air or humid, warm air with intense downpours. October is possibly the most beautiful month in the Berkshires with warm, sunny days and cool, crisp nights. Perfect weather for enjoying the foliage. Typically, colors peak the first three weeks of October.
